June 5, 2008, was one of the happiest days I’ve had since I came to know how wonderful birds can be. Grasshopper came home, this time to stay. Grasshopper was one of my birds I had to find a home for when my husband got so ill. Even after my husband recovered, I still thought Grasshopper was gone forever. I missed him so very much even though I knew he had a very good home and was loved so much. I missed the way he had sat on my shoulder and talked to me while he gave me kisses and chewed holes in the back of my shirts.
Well today I know how much he must have missed me too. He sat on my shoulder, talked to me, gave me kisses and you guessed it, chewed holes in my (his) new shirt.
