Baby Birds
My hobby is hand raising baby birds. I have to buy these babies because I am not a breeder. From time to time I wean babies and sell them at a very reasonable price, just so that I can recover expenses and keep my hobby going.
I wean my babies on a very healthy diet of fruit, veggies, pellets, pasta, Beak, nuts, a good seed mix and a little millet. This makes for a very good eater.
While I am hand feeding the babies, they are always fed one at a time with a spoon. I like holding them while I feed and afterwards. Then when they are finished, I make sure to wash off all the food that they get on themselves while eating. I do this by using a spray bottle with warm water. This makes them unafraid of being sprayed and can be used to give them a shower, or spraying the feathers with medicine if need be.
After they are fully feathered, I like to hold and cuddle the babies more so they become really sweet and like to be held. Of course the very best way is for you, if possible, to visit while they are being weaned. This way they can bond with you, the transfer to a new home will be less stressful, and the adjustment period will be much less for you and the bird. If you can’t do this, I can give you lots of tips to get you started.
When you are looking for a bird and I don’t happen to have one you want at the time, I will gladly try to find one for you. Or if you know where you can get one but you need someone to hand feed it until it is weaned, I will gladly do that too.
I do not ship but will meet within a 200 mile radius from Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
