About Ann
After years of working with young children for a living, I retired because of a bout with cancer. Thank God, I survived that.
I didn’t feel like I should go back to childcare, but I needed something to keep me busy. That was when I started my hobby with baby birds. First I bred cockatiels and loved the way the things I had learned over the years working with children could also be used in raising and nurturing baby birds.
After a while I had an opportunity to purchase a bird shop. So I came out of retirement and did just that. This was a great time for me. I loved my work. I met so many wonderful people and made some very good friends. I loved working with so many different birds.
The shop was doing great, but then my husband became ill and I needed and wanted to be home with him, so I sold the shop and returned home. Thank God, he recovered also, so I got back into having a few babies to wean, find good homes for them, and keep my hobby going with something that I truly love to do. My intentions are not to make a lot of money or to try to put other people out of business. It is just to be happy.
